The difference that matters

The four paths cover different stages of the same journey: asking a useful question, preparing data, analysing it and communicating a result. The meaningful choice is how quickly you want to move into programming or databases.

Introduction to Data Analysis is the gentlest starting point. The Python diploma is broader and more technical, while MySQL and Statistics is better for learners who specifically want database and quantitative skills.

Choose the introduction if…

• You are starting from zero and want the smoothest sequence.
• You value a guided overview before choosing software.
• You want strong coverage of the analyst’s process and communication.
• Too many tools at once would reduce your chance of finishing.

Choose Python or MySQL if…

• You are comfortable learning several tools in parallel.
• Python or database work is important in your intended next role.
• You prefer technical breadth over a gentler overview.
• You will practise outside the lessons and build extra portfolio projects.

What neither certificate can do

A certificate is evidence of structured learning, not a job guarantee. Whichever route you choose, add two original projects, explain your decisions in plain language, and practise SQL independently. Hiring managers need to see that you can turn an unclear question into a defensible result.
